Jim Seay

Jim Seay has been providing legal services in North Carolina for over 40 years in various practice areas. Today, his practice focuses on commercial real estate and business law, with a particular emphasis on the timber and forestry industry.  He also enjoys working on legal matters involving coastal waters and riparian rights.

Jim has significant experience advising individuals, governmental entities, local, regional, and national companies in real estate matters. Jim's reputation in real estate law is held in high regard in North Carolina, as parties often retain Jim to serve as a consultant in litigation involving issues of North Carolina real estate law.

Upon graduation from Campbell Law School in 1982, Jim served in the United States Navy as a JAG officer where he both prosecuted and defended countless court-martial cases. After completing active duty service, Jim continued in the Navy Reserves and was the commanding officer for the VTU law unit at the naval reserve center in Raleigh, NC. He retired from service at the rank of Commander.
